Netflix: Fawlty Towers: The Complete Set

Just about the funniest of all the British Sitcoms, Fawlty Towers is comic genius at work, due largely to the scripts of Cleese and Booth coupled with dead-on performances by the entire cast. Plot after plot turns the foibles of working in a not-so-successful hotel business to side-splitting laughs. Most FT plots revolve around the incredulous plans of Basil Fawley to do something cheaply or under the nose of his wife, Sybil. When caught, he practically reinvents the lie to wiggle out from under and save face. Get some hankies and queue this up, you're in for some serious laughing.
Haughty, misadventure-prone Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) and his bossy wife, Sybil (Prunella Scales), try to raise the profile of their "English Riviera" operation -- the Fawlty Towers Hotel -- but never-ending misunderstandings arise, leading to constant farcical lunacy. Connie Booth co-stars as the maid, Polly, and Andrew Sachs shines as the Spanish bellhop, Manuel, in this award-winning BBC series from the 1970s.
