http://cdn-3.nflximg.com/en_CA/boxshots/gsd/70121793.jpg With the description stating that the documentary both celebrates and questions the genius of Apple computers I was hoping for a balanced view on an interesting topic. This documentary was almost a complete failure. Of the 54 minute run time, I think it was minute 37 before there was anything but glowing praise for all things Apple. About the only balance I felt was by the fact that most of the people chosen to speak on behalf of the Mac seemed a little bit out there. I was talking this to be tongue and cheek, but Im afraid it wasnt. If you are looking for a discussion on the dichotomy of words and actions of a corporate image and product, you will do better reading In the Beginning... Was the Command Line by Neal Stephenson written in 1999. I was hoping that the ideas he talked about a decade ago would be further explored.
Filmmaker brothers Kobi and Ron Shely explore the quirky world of Mac fandom in this user-driven documentary that both celebrates and questions the genius of Apple computers and the company's direction under founder Steve Jobs. Highlights include classic footage of the earliest Apples, a trip to several Macintosh museums and interviews with Mac die-hards like sex columnist Violet Blue, who declares she's never knowingly slept with a Windows user.
