This -- Bright Eyes' "First Day Of My Life" off of their 2005 album I'm Wide Awake It's Morning -- is the first song I ever learned to play on the ukulele. It makes me so very happy to play it and even happier to hear it played. They lyrics, the video, the sentiment -- love it!
This is the first day of my life. Glad I didn't die before I met you.
I find these kinds of uplifting, life-is-beautiful songs to be few and far between and that disappoints me. Music holds so much emotional power, why don't we use it for good more often? Is it that we don't like to feel vulnerable or perhaps we see these kinds of songs as strictly feminine?
Yours is the first face that I saw. Think I was blind before I met you.
If you know any more songs like this that you could share with me, please do! I'm all ears!
